5 Tips for Your Facebook Ad Campaign

Facebook has become the most widely-used social platform to date. It’s also the most popular social platform for marketers, and because of that there are also countless local business pages on Facebook. According to Facebook there are 40 million active small business Pages on Facebook. A lot of businesses are trying to do Facebook ads, but only few of them that get it right.

Here I’ll share some simple tips on making your Facebook ad campaign work so that you’ll get a sweet result. Before we talk about your Facebook ad campaign, you should remember that you should get your Facebook page right first. Simple things such as filling in all the details, updating continually and putting the right profile picture and Facebook cover all make a difference. You get that all right already? Ok, let’s go to the ad campaign.

1. Set your own budget
Whether you are thinking to boost a post on your Facebook page or promote your page, once your click the button, you will see several options. By default, it shows you the option of a $20 minimum budget. You can actually change it to, for example down to $5. Besides changing the budget, you can customize how long you want your promotion to run for. Play around with these options to find the combination that works for your promotion (and make sure to test and measure your results before scaling your campaign).

2. Decide the objective
On the top right side of your Facebook page you’ll see the Promote button, which will give you these two options: Promote your website and promote your page. But if you decide to go to your ads manager, when you click to create ads, you’ll get to the below page.
Facebook Campaign objectives
There are plenty of campaign objectives such as sending people to your website, increasing conversions on your website, get installs of your app, raise attendance at your event and more besides.

3. Include a call to action
In any marketing campaign, a call to action (CTA) plays an important role. Though Facebook states that you should include a CTA within the first 90 characters, you should make the decision on where to place it based on the campaign that you choose.

Page or post engagement, website conversions and even app engagement, all have different appearances. Be sure to include a clear CTA and double check how your ad campaign appears.

4. Use high-quality photos / video
Whatever creative that you plan to use in your ads, remember nobody likes looking at a poor quality photo or video. To design ads that work on Facebook you need to create an attractive high-quality advertisement.

5. Identify your target
It is important to set your audience or target your ad campaign. Choose the location (countries), age, gender and also interests (you can put 4-10 interests). Learn how to identify your target audience because clear targeting will get you better results rather than for example just targeting a random audience. Also, set aside time to think about your audience.

So that’s all. Hope you can get better results from your Facebook ad campaign. Last but not least, experiment(s) with your ad campaign. Even if your Facebook ad campaign works well, keep on split testing it to find out if you can improve it (all campaigns become less effective over time).

Also, don’t be afraid to experiment with your ad campaign. Trying different things won’t harm you and it might become more successful than before. Now back at you. Do you have any tips for a successful Facebook ad campaign? How are your Facebook ad campaigns doing?
